Unleash Dreams through Education —— Melchers Group Demonstrate its Social Responsibility with Shanghai Sunrise Project
On November 9th, 2024, the annual freshman pairing education support event of the Shanghai Sunrise Project was successfully held. Kevin Li, the Financial Director of Melchers China, attended this event on behalf of Melchers Group and made a donation on behalf of the company. As a charity project under the Shanghai Charity Foundation, Shanghai Sunrise has been dedicated to providing scholarships for impoverished young people in the Shanghai area since its establishment in 1996, thereby facilitating their access to valuable education opportunities.
Melchers Group, a German enterprise with a nearly 160-year history in China, has not only attained remarkable achievements in the business realm but has also manifested corporate responsibility. The corporate culture is deeply infused with an emphasis on education and humanistic concern. Through Shanghai Sunrise Project, a pair of twin brothers sponsored by Melchers Group have successfully completed their high school education and have entered in their desired universities to continue chasing their dreams.
During the event, Frances O’Rourke, the Board Chairman of Shanghai Sunrise Project, presented a donation certificate to Melchers Group in acknowledgment of its continuous attention and support for the educational cause. Kevin Li articulated Melchers Group’s dedication to China’s educational cause at the event, stressing that Melchers is not merely a participant in economic activities but also a creator of a better life and a propeller of social progress. Melchers Group has pledged to continuously engage in and support the Shanghai Sunrise Project, assisting more young people with restricted economic conditions to obtain education opportunities and fulfill their life aspirations.
